It is interesting that Erykah Badu is
banned from performing in Malaysia but there is no such action in
Indonesia where she is slated to perform at the Java Jazz Festival.
Indonesia is acknowledged as the world's most populous Muslim
country. I guess the Indonesians do not follow to the letter the
tenets of Islam compared to the Malaysian Muslims.
A few years ago Beyonce postponed her
concert in Kuala Lumpur, effectively a nod to an unspoken ban on her
performance but she continued with her tour in Jakarta. Indonesiaan
Muslims' faith must have been shaken to the core from these artistes
continuos onslought on them. Fortunately, the Malaysian Muslims have
all the Islamic agencies and parties, working hard to save the
faithfull from plunging into hell.
This latest episode definitely confirms
that Malaysian Muslims are a priviledged lot. Shall we assume that
there is a guaranteed place for them as they have been well protected
from all the “evils” present in this world?
